Top 10 Changes for 2008

EZPerDiem.com has been completely redesigned inside.  The changes we made have made EZPerDiem.com faster and more user-friendly than ever, and we hope the efforts we have put into it will help you greatly this tax season!  Websites are never finished, and EZPerDiem.com will undoubtedly be improved again next year, the year after, and for every year to come.  But, while we still have a long wish list of goals in front of us, below are ten big changes we have made for 2008:

  1. Archived data:  Probably the most frequent question we received this year regarded having the ability to calculate the per diem deduction for previous tax years.  Now, users can go back as far as 2006 if they wish.  Each archived year is the same low price as the current year.
  2. Entry during the year:  Now you can enter your trips as soon as you fly them.  You no longer have to wait until tax season to begin data entry.
  3. Improved Copy and Paste scripts:  In a nutshell, this means we can quickly create new scripts for new airlines as we get the data.  Currently we have Copy and Paste available for Continental Pilots, Continental Flight Attendants, ExpressJet Pilots, and ExpressJet Flight Attendants.  In the future you can expect this list to grow.
  4. Improved Copy and Paste entry:  You can now enter all twelve months from one screen.  Before you could only enter one month at a time.
  5. Improved navigation:  The old Hub Page is gone as it was not needed with the changes we made.  Now you can instantly click from one screen to another without waiting.  Simple icons take you instantly to the new requested page.
  6. Faster pageloads:  Most of the changes were behind the scenes changes, but this means a significantly faster website.  Last year it took about 45 seconds to save changes and navigate back to the Airport Code Entry Page.  During times of heavy use, this occasionally caused server crashes.  The changes we made have lowered pageload speeds to less than a second.
  7. Better printouts:  Some users had issues with the printed-versions last year.  Those issues were fixed, and the printed versions were greatly improved.  These modifications also use less paper when printed.
  8. Simplified Expense Processor:  The older version had many popups that complicated its use somewhat.  Popups are still important to the website, but the number of them has been greatly reduced.  With unneeded popups gone the Expense Processor is even simpler to use than ever.
  9. Help button:  We added this to provide a one-click location to where people could find help if they are having trouble.  We also added the EZPerDIem.com Step-by-Step guide to help people along.  Various help features will be added to the Help Page in future.
  10. AviationTaxGlossary:  AviationTaxGlossary.com is a stand alone website that has the tax terms that often get used in the aviation tax industry.  This wiki-structured website allows a simple way to explain complicated tax terms.

While there were more changes that we added, the changes we made this year mark a big step to the way EZPerDiem.com will look in the future.  The site design changes are largely based on your feedback, so to encourage more feedback we also added a feedback link on the upper right corner inside the site.  We encourage you to send us feedback so we can add appropriate fixes to next year's version.  Good luck to everyone this year enjoy the,
