If you want to SKIP and access the ACTUAL Per Diem Calculator, click below

Why did EZPerDiem.com add this feature? We debated whether to include this feature for some time. The risk of adding the Per Diem Deduction Estimator is that some visitors might think this is the actual Per Diem Calculator. People who are either new to the airline industry or who do not know what the per diem deduction is could understandably confuse this simple tool for the actual Per Diem Calculator. The actual Per Diem Calculator requires flight crewmembers to enter their layovers into a form so that the city-by-city per diem deduction can be calculated. In contrast, the Per Diem Deduction Estimator simply uses the number of layovers a flight crewmember had in a given tax year to approximate the deduction. Usually, this method of calculating a per diem deduction results in a lower than actual value.
The reason we are adding the Per Diem Deduction Estimator is to help flight crewmembers initially understand what the per diem deduction is and how it might benefit them. Two of
the most common questions we get are:
The
answer to the 1st question is best addressed by clicking the link
above. The answer to the 2nd
question is a big “it depends.” Because
we want to give flight crewmembers the best aviation tax experience possible, we have
developed this simple calculator that can give you a rough idea of what to expect
to get back in your tax refund when you properly signup for and use the true EZPerDiem.com Per
Diem Calculator. The Rough
Idea Calculator is very basic, but despite that, you can get some insight
as to what makes the per diem deduction go up or down. Many factors affect the value of your per
diem deduction, and some are not considered in The Per Deduction Estimator, so
please DO NOT use the calculation that the The Per Deduction Estimator generates in
your taxes, as there is no basis to substantiate it if you are ever audited by
the IRS. |
